DAVID L. PITMON Feb. 27, 1937 – Feb. 5, 2012 Aumsville, Oregon Resident David L. Pitmon was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Feb. 27, 1937. He passed away at his home in Aumsville on Sunday, Feb. 5th. He was 74 years old. The son of Harold and Gesella Pitmon. David was married to Jacqueline Gorman on June 24, 1959 in Canada and then a year later in the US. They made their home in Milwaukie, Oregon before moving to Arizona. He retired in 1987 and they moved to Salem, OR in 1988 and to Aumsville in 1990. He had served his country in the US Air Force as an aircraft mechanic from 1955 – 1961. He attended architectural draftsman trade school and had worked as a housing and urban development analyst and inspector for the Federal government. He enjoyed many things in life, gardening, he was creative in making bird houses, clay art, woodworking and carving. He also enjoyed beach combing. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline of Aumsville; sons, Barry of Texas, Christopher of Washington, Ivan of Nevada; daughter, Teresa Schmidt of Scappoose, OR; 5 grandchildren; 6 step granddaughters; and numerous great and great- great grandchildren. Private family service will be held. Memorials may be made to the Aumsville Fire Department. Arrangements entrusted to Weddle Funeral Services Stayton, OR.
