David Knapp was born on July 26, 1959, in Tacoma, Washington. Upon graduation from high school, David would serve 10 years in the United States Army. While in Mannheim, Germany he would marry the love of his life, Heidi. He would eventually become a welding master. He was blessed with five children. His proudest moments and accomplishments were his family. He loved his family with his entire heart and there were no limits for this man as he would go to the ends of the world and back. He would walk through fire for the ones he loved. With his passing, he is now reunited with his beloved wife, Heidi. Not even death could keep these two beautiful souls apart.
When not spending time with his family, he loved outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting, camping, and gardening. He would build stuff and work on cars to keep himself busy, listened to country music and relished his wife’s perfectly made German food.
At the time of his passing, David was living in the Scio area and was enjoying retirement.
He is survived by his children, Steven Knapp, David Knapp, Jolene Knapp, Denise Knapp and Michele Knapp; grandchildren Jason Knapp, Michael Knapp, Malvin Knapp, Leah Knapp, Lanyia Knapp and Daniel Knapp; siblings, Jeff Parker, Frank Knapp, Curtis Parker, Scott Parker, Timmy Parker and Phillip Parker. David passed away on October 6, 2022.
Dee wanted to share the following information about her dad, “he dedicated and sacrifice his entire life for the happiness of his family. My amazing father dedicated his life to his wife and children. He was an amazing father that would never let you fall. He would always be there to pick you up. He is also a honorable army veteran. He served 10 years in the army while raising 5 children. He loved the outdoors. There was nothing he couldn't do. He truly was a jack of all trades. He has taught us so much. I am grateful to call him my father. His hands are the hands of a hard working man. He always tried to keep us happy and did everything in his power to do so. Unfortunately he left us so unexpectedly and fast. Now he is reunited with his sunshine my beautiful mother. Now they can fly high together. He is no longer in pain and can finally be happy again without any burdens. I love you daddy always and forever.”
