Darlene Lois Ballard

Darlene Lois Ballard December 14, 1938 July 4, 2011 Silverton, Oregon Darlene Ballard, 73 passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family.  Longtime Montana resident, Darlene was born in Eureka to Harry and Iola Butts.  Darlene graduated from Power High School in 1957.  She married Robert Ballard and enjoyed 53 years of marriage.  They worked together for many years as owners of a T-shirt silk screening company.  In 2007 Bob and Darlene moved to Silverton to be near their children and grandchildren.  Darlene was a seamstress and took pride in making quilts.  She was a hardworking and generous Mother and Grandmother.  Her legacy will be remembered by her gift of a quilt to each family member.  Darlene was active in her church and taught Sunday School and attended Bible study along with joining some of the Ladies group activities.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob and her daughter, Jeanne Bandy.  She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Judy (Randy) Kanady of Anchorage, AK; son, Wade (Bonnie) Ballard of Stanwood, WA; brothers, Dale (Becky) Butts of Woodburn, OR, Dan (Cheri) Butts of Whitefish, MT; Grandchildren; Dustin, Logan, and Kaytlan Schneider of Silverton, OR, Rachelle and Mackenzie Kanady of Anchorage, AK, Devan and Brendan Ballard of Stanwood, WA.  Services will be 2:00 p.m.,Thursday, July 14, 2011,  at the Silverton Church of the Nazarene.  Contributions to the Church.
