Clara Beth Nielsen

Clara Beth Nielsen October 19, 1943 April 26, 2010 Salem, Oregon Clara Beth Nielsen, 66, passed away on April 26 after a courageous 11 year battle with breast cancer. Clara Beth was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma and later moved to Iowa with her parents and five brothers, where her father was a regional manager for a welding sales company. She raised her daughter in Des Moines, Iowa and moved to Salem in 2000. Throughout her life she was caring and compassionate, and loved to gather her friends together for a meal. She also enjoyed debating her views on religion and various social issues with her daughter and son-in-law. She was especially proud of her grandson and all of his accomplishments. She is survived by her mother, Hazel; her five brothers, Rex, Dan, Duane, Lowell and Wes; her daughter, Sheronne and son-in-law Steve; and her grandson, Garrett. She is preceded in death by her father, Howard Houston. The family would like to sincerely thank the loving and caring staff of Lakeside Assisted Living in Stayton and Sunnyside Care Center in Salem who made her feel special every day.
