Christine Agnes Chaffey

Christine Agnes Chaffey, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away in Salem, OR on October 5, 2023. Born on January 23, 1949, in Portland, OR, Christine was a beacon of love and warmth to all who knew her.

Christine is survived by her devoted husband, Philip Chaffey, and their three sons, Scott, Frank, and Jon Chaffey, and daughters, June and Brandy. She was a cherished grandmother to Allyson and Wyatt, and a doting great-grandmother to Aubrey, Zane, and Avery. She is also survived by her brother Walt and sister Janis. Christine was predeceased by her parents, Christine Curphey and Walter J. Dahlgren, and her brother, Steven Dahlgren.

Christine and Philip were married in Reno, Nevada, and together they built a beautiful life in Oregon, living in Donald, Aurora, and Elkhorn. Christine was a dedicated stay-at-home mom and later worked in food service for the local school. She was also a formidable All Star slow pitch softball pitcher, a testament to her competitive spirit and love for sports.

Christine's interests were as diverse as they were passionate. She was an avid cross-stitcher, a lover of music, and an enthusiastic camper. She was a constant presence at her children's and grandchildren's sports events and plays, always their biggest cheerleader. Christine was a great friend to all who knew her, and her legacy as an amazing mother will live on in the hearts of her family.

Christine Agnes Chaffey's life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and joy. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A graveside service will take place at 10:45 AM on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 1:00 PM on October 21, 2023. It will be a Potluck at 8521 Elkhorn Dr. Lyons, Oregon 97358.
