Candice Irene Chamberlain, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully in Salem, Oregon, on June 22, 2023, at the age of 76. She was born in Ontario, Oregon, on July 28, 1946, to the late Mildred Davis and Glenn Hutchinson. Candice graduated from Ontario High School before attending Oregon State University and business college. Her career was marked by dedication and commitment, serving as a Title Officer for American Title, Vice President at Capitol Title Co., and an accountant for White Oaks Rehab. Her work ethic and leadership qualities were admired by all who had the privilege of working with her.


She married Michael Edward Chamberlain on December 26, 1975, in Salem, Oregon and they were blessed with family, adventure and the love of their beloved American Eskimo Dogs.

Her love for animals, particularly American Eskimo Dogs, was evident in her 40+ years of breeding and showing them. She was a pivotal member of the American Eskimo Dog Association of Oregon UKC, and she was the past treasurer of American Eskimo Dog Club of America AKC in addition to the National American Eskimo Dog Association of UKC.


Beyond her professional and association involvements, Candice was a woman of many interests. She enjoyed the great outdoors and often spent her free time camping and fishing. She was also fond of shopping, a pastime that brought her much joy and satisfaction. Her vibrant spirit and zest for life were infectious, and she was known for her ability to light up any room she entered.


In her family circle, Candice was the heart and soul, known for her resilience, unconditional love, and unwavering support. As a mother, she instilled strong values in her children, guiding them to become responsible and compassionate individuals. As a grandmother, she doted on her grandchildren, showering them with love and affection. She was a pillar of strength during challenging times and a beacon of hope, illuminating the lives of those around her.


Candice was predeceased by her sister, Barbara McGowan, and her nephews, David "Brock" Halford and Joseph "Jay" Halford. She is survived by her spouse, Michael Edward Chamberlain; sister Kendal Halford, brother-in-law Scott McGowan, and in laws, Frank Chamberlain, Richard Chamberlain, John Chamberlain and Joan Chamberlain; her children Angela Shannon of London England, Jessica Miller of Salem, Ali "Mandy" Chamberlain of Salem and Scott Broer of California, and grandchildren, Mose Shannon and Zachary Shannon, Laith Sheikhissa, Tia Sheikhissa, and Laila Sheikhissa.


In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in her honor to the American Eskimo Dog Association of Oregon C/O Mike Chamberlain or your favorite animal rescue organization.
