Brendan Tyler Boaz was born in Fort Lewis, WA on December 26, 1990, a day that will live in infamy to those closest to him. He was precocious even at a young age; likewise, was he willful, spirited, and full of life. He was unafraid to share his thoughts and feelings on any and all subjects under the sun. Equal to his outspoken nature, will he be remembered as kind and generous to those in need. Brendan loved to play football starting with flag football in the 3rd grade and moved up to tackle football in Junior High. He continued to play football every year until his freshman year in High School when he decided the coaches were taking the fun out of it & there was no point in playing if he wasn’t having fun. In 2009, Brendan decided that school was not his thing. He got his GED & enlisted in the US Army. This was short lived when he was injured while at home on leave & received a medical discharge. In late 2013, Patriotism called to him again, and he re-enlisted in the United States Army and served until receiving a medical discharge again in 2015. Even after his service, Brendan remained a passionate patriot. Brendan found his greatest joy in being a father to his three children—Arianna, Silas, and Henry. As his world, he reveled in teaching them an appreciation for outdoor activities, most notably fishing. He made it a point to spend as much time with them as possible, personifying love in tangible ways that will always remain in their hearts. During the last 6 years of his life, he traveled to various places throughout the country as a directional driller and then as a supervisor in the trade. He was known as fair, loyal, and down-to-earth by his coworkers. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, riding dirt bikes, and was renowned as a skilled mechanic that worked on a variety of makes/models of trucks. He also played the guitar and sang in his family band. On January 10, 2022, in Portland, Oregon, Brendan left many hearts broken by leaving this world far too soon. He is survived by his mother Megan McNulty (Steve Oslie), his father Vincent Boaz (Jen); his children Arianna, Silas, and Henry; siblings Jayson (Teresa) and Bailey; stepbrother Wyatt; nephews, Mason and Finn; grandparents Paula Wedel, Eldon Boaz (Gayle) and Debbie Boaz; in addition to many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. One of Brendan’s most significant legacies is that he unabashedly stood up for what he thought was right. Each of us can honor his time on earth by continuing down that path.
