A service with full military honors will be held on November 5, 2018 at 1:30pm in Willamette National Cemetery for Brad D. Howser who passed away on October 24, 2018 in Salem, Oregon at the age of 70. Brad was born on July 6, 1948 in Humansville, Missouri to Benjamin Franklin Howser and Vermont Jessie Bewley. Brad bypassed the Draft and Joined the United States Army where he served overseas in Vietnam. While in Vietnam a mortar landed on him in which he survived earning a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars for his service. Upon being honorably discharged, he met and began dating Terri Gilkison realizing their unique bond they married in 1974. Brad and Terri lived California, New York, Montana and finally decided to make the community of Mill City their home. They met and made several great long lasting friendships along the way, they enjoyed camping, shooting at the range, cheating at games of poker and just spending time together. Brad could be described as difficult and tough, but was equally kind and good hearted and extremely loyal to those he loved and would do anything for anyone especially those closest to him. Brad held many jobs throughout his lifetime, but he retired from the State of Oregon as a revenue agent in the early 90’s. He enjoyed his retirement which allowed him to spend time with his family and friends. Brad will be remembered for his piercing baby blue eyes, golden heart and his devotion to his wife of 45 years, Terri Howser. He is also survived by his son Randal Howser, sister, Belinda Didericksen, sister and brother-in-law Sharon and David Jaramillo, and his adoped family members Shelia, Kartier and Kalyx Patterson all whom loved him and will miss him.
