Billie Stanton was born in Spokane, Washington on the 5th day of May, 1918. She passed away on Saturday, March 31st in Sublimity. She was 93 years of age and the daughter of Charles and Juanita Clark. Billie was married to Bob Stanton in 1940. She lived most of her life in Spokane. She received her bachelor’s degree in education and played college basketball for Eastern Washington University. She was a very strong, prominent and dedicated teacher, having taught Kindergarten through college from 1938 and again 1949 until retiring in 1973. She was a Golden Apple recipient and was active in Spokane and National education associations. She worked with the State Legislative committee and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed sewing and staying physically fit. She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth in 1998, her husband, Bob in 1999, and her brother, Charles in 2006. Billie moved to Sublimity to be closer to her son, John ( Connie) Stanton of Sublimity; 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. At her request no public service will be held.
