Betty Ruth Albrecht

July 10, 1927 – September 30, 2013 Betty passed on September 30th at age 86.  She taught for the Portland Public School District at the Middle School level until her retirement at age 60. Betty enjoyed traveling and has been to Europe and throughout the United States.  Her love of history and art history enabled her to thoroughly enjoy the places she traveled.  She loved playing the piano, family board and card games.   Betty was an avid fan of the Portland Trailblazers.  She was a season ticket holder for eighteen years.  Betty attended classes at local Community Colleges until she turned 82 years old.  Her favorite subjects were history, literature and Spanish. Betty was actively involved in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s lives. Betty is survived by her children:  Karen Woodward and Roy Albrecht, three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
