Betty Jane Spencer

Betty Jane Spencer March 1, 1930 June 4, 2016 Stayton, Oregon Daughter of Herbert N. and Elizabeth Black. She graduated from LaGrande High School in 1948 and Western Oregon State College in 1986. She worked as an instructional aide and later as a teacher at Stayton Union High School. She also worked 30 years as GED Instructor for Chemeketa Community College. Betty is survived by daughter Marilyn (Tom) Birkholz; son Berton Raymond (Carrie) Spencer; grandchildren Carla Birkholz, Katie Bullock, and Nathan Birkholz; eight great-grandchildren; and brother Donald (Joy) Black. She was preceded in death be son Joseph Gary Spencer, grandson Jared Gary Spencer, and four brothers. Memorial Service to be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 2pm at The Stayton United Methodist Church. Private interment at Lone Oak Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Weddle Funeral Services.
