Bessie L. Niehoff

March 18, 1923 August 30, 2014 Bessie L. Niehoff, 91, died Saturday.  She was born in Wellsville, Missouri and lived Wisconsin and California before moving to Oregon in 1991.  She worked in the aircraft industry during World War II and later as a coil winder in Santa Monica, California.  She enjoyed many different crafts and excelled in sewing and crochet.  Bessie was an avid gardener and often could be found among the flowers in her yard.  She married Charles A. Niehoff on September 28, 1946.  He preceded her in death in 1997.  Bessie is survived by her son, Larry of Stayton; daughter Aleta (Gary) Opp of Perris, California, sisters; Lena Taylor of Torrance, California, Evelyn Coates of Riverside, California, Ruth Olsen of Torrance, California, brother; Carl Porter of Wellsville, Missouri, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  No services will be held.  Arrangements by Weddle Funeral Services.  Contributions to a charity of your choice.
