Bessie Ione Hartman

BESSIE  IONE  HARTMAN April 7, 1928 – August 30, 2011 Stayton, Oregon Bessie I. Hartman, loving wife to Hollis for 65 years.  Loving mother to Patricia, who preceded her in death on Jan. 28, 2009, Jimmy (Rosemary) Hartman of Woodburn, John Hartman of Stayton, Donna  of Oceanside, California; sister to Jonnie Devitt and Shirley Shreve both of Texas; grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Bessie was married to Hollis on April 20, 1946 in Brownfield, Texas.  They made their home in Texas before moving to California in 1958 and to Stayton, Oregon in 1997.  Bessie was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting, sewing, embroidery, quilting and made special blankets for each new grand and great grandchild.  Her projects were entered into the state fair and had won several blue ribbons.  Other things she enjoyed were making jewelry, square dancing, gardening, and loved beautiful dolls.  She especially loved her little dog Tinkerbell. Funeral service will be held Fri. Sept. 2nd at 10:30 am at Weddle Funeral Chapel, Stayton, OR.  Vault interment will follow at Lone Oak Cemetery, Stayton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Breast Cancer Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to Weddle Funeral Services Stayton, OR.
