Barbara Jean Turrey

Aumsville- Barbara Jean Turrey was born on June 3, 1941, in Merced, California. She was raised in Merced and would go on to graduate from Merced High School. While attending school she would meet Frank Turrey and they began dating.  They married on April 20, 1956 in Merced, California. She would serve the role of military wife until her husband’s honorable discharge in 1959 from the United States Navy. The family lived in Merced, San Jose, San Diego and eventually moved to Aumsville, Oregon in 2001.  Barbara received her Real Estate License and certification and would work in both California and then Oregon. She was very successful at working in real estate and enjoyed helping people find their new homes.  Barbara was a devoted wife and mother who lived for her family. She was strong in her faith and loved The Lord and listening to Gospel Music. She loved to attend “spirit filled” churches and she and Frank began attending New Life Foursquare Church in Stayton 12 years ago.  Barbara was welcomed by her loving Savior on October 19, 2021 at age 80. She was preceded in passing by her, husband of 63 years, Frank; parents, Lloyd and Dorothy; and brother, Raymond Alcorn. She is survived by her children, Stephanie (David) Banks, Russell (Linda) Turrey, Stacey (Tommy) Ball, Chris (Casey) Turrey; sister, Kathy Johnston; grandchildren, Jason Turrey, Justin Pyke, Marissa Banks, Mitch Lucas, Khyra Turrey, Victoria Turrey, Leanna Ball; great grandchildren, Tyler Turrey, Lily Pyke, Owen Lucas, Braxton Turrey, Bryant Pyke and Amelia Lucas; her fur-babies, Foxy, Eli, Trudy and “Muffin” in addition to many extended family members and friends.   A memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM on Sunday October 24, 2021 at New Life Foursquare Church located at 1090 N. 1st St. Stayton, OR 97383 with private burial at Willamette National Cemetery.
