Barbara Jean Holcomb was born on October 23, 1946, in Tacoma, Washington to Cloyde Bernard Rufkhar and Katherine Crolog. Being from a military family, she moved around a lot as a child, but the family finally settled in Eugene, Oregon. She would graduate from Willamette High School in Eugene with the class of 1964.
Barbara would marry Walter Holcomb on October 1, 1971, and she would then become a long time resident of Albany, Oregon. She would work as a bookkeeper for a property management firm and was involved in many activities in her spare time.
Barbara had a big heart and was willing to help just about anyone. She volunteered for the Boys and Girls Aid Society where she was very passionate about helping to set up adoptions. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and with her husband, a longtime member of the American Street Masters Car Club. She loved the outdoors and water. She enjoyed sailing and fast cars. Above all else she loved her family and those she chose to share her life with.
On January 8, 2023, Barbara passed away in Albany, Oregon. She was preceded in passing by her parents, and Aunt Annie. She is survived by her loving husband, Walter; children, Amber and Craig; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren with one on the way; and siblings, Cecilia and Therese.
