Barbara Ann Tackett

Barbara Ann Tackett (Douthit) was born on May 4, 1957 in Portland, Oregon to Jerold Douthit, Sr. and Eileen (Zimbrick) Douthit. Barbara grew up in Newberg and graduated from Newberg High School in 1976. In 1990 she moved south to Sweet Home and lived there until she married Thomas Tackett in 1993.They moved to Lebanon, Oregon where she would raise her son, Konrad.
Over the years, Barbara would work at Tektronix in Beaverton, but mostly would be a stay-at-home mom and homemaker. Barb loved going to the beach to watch a good storm come to shore. She also enjoyed Chinese food and going out to eat with family and friends.
Over the years, Barb fought many health battles but stayed resilient through it all. She passed away in Albany, Oregon on March 17, 2023, at age 65.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Tackett and her parents, Eileen and Jerold Douthit, Sr.
Barb is survived by her son, Konrad Tackett; sister, Susan Scott of The Woodlands, Texas; Jerold (Teresa) Douthit, Jr. of McMinnville, Oregon; nephews, Brian Douthit, Adam Douthit, Ryan Scott; niece, Kori Scott Ford in addition to 11 great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held in honor of Barb’s birthday on May 4th, 2023.
