Arthur W. Collier01.27.1930 – 12.09.2020             On December 9th, 2020, Arthur William Collier sailed from these shores on his final voyage. Born in Nakusp, Canada, Art was the eldest of six children.  He came to the United States at a young age and went on to marry the love of his life, Trish, in January of 1957.  They shared 33 years of love and partnership until her passing in 1991.  Together they had two daughters, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, whom he lavished with love. Art served in the United States Navy from 10.31.1950 to 08.19.1954, during which he served honorably in the Korean War, as a COMMO (Communications Officer).  After his Navy career, he continued to serve his country as an air traffic controller with the FAA for an additional 28 years. One of Art’s proudest honors was earning his pilot’s license and instructors license under Chuck Yeager, whom he went on to share a lifetime friendship with.  Among other proud achievements, he earned a lifetime membership to the Elks, and was a member of the VFW.  Arthur believed in being a good steward of his community and made charitable donations to many local organizations.             Art was a man of many passions: HAM Radio operations, flight, motorcycles, snowmobiles, music, gardening, woodworking, and reading.  He was also an avid collector of guns, coins, stamps, and vinyl records.               Above all, Art was a man who valued his family, and he instilled the best of his qualities to his daughters and granddaughters, and that will be his greatest legacy.
