ArneSwede M. Lien November 3, 1920 March 21, 2010 Arne Morris Swede Lien of Salem, formally of Sandstone, Minn. died at the age of 89 in Salem, Oregon on Sunday the 21st. . Arne was born to the proud parents of Amund and Mildred Lien on Section Marker 23 of the Sooline Railroad in Beldon, Minnesota on the 3rd day of November, 1920. He attended school in Kingsdale, Minn. and then migrated to Oregon where he met his future wife, Margorie Bray. They were married for 56 years. In that time, they moved back to Sandstone, Minn. where their four sons attended school, Richard Lien of Haines, Oregon, , Charles Buddy of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Jerry Lien of Scio, Oregon, Edward Corkey of both Haines, Oregon and Austin, Texas, After their years in Sandstone, Minn., Arne moved his family back to Oregon and another son, John Lien was born. He was proud to have 15 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren. Arne is survived by his brother, Jack Lien of Minneapolis, Minn.; two sisters, Audrey Lien of St. Paul, Minn. and Arline Warren of Cave Cove, Ariz. He is preceded in death by his wife, Margorie, their son, Jerry Lien, and his brother, Archie, who lost his life during WWII. His career encompassed serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII and working as a skilled Carpenter and Millwright which took him around the U.S. and the world. He loved hunting with his sons and traveling. Memorial Service will be Sat. April 10, 2010 at 11:00 am at Weddle Funeral Chapel, Stayton, Oregon, interment following with military honors  at Lone Oak Cemetery, Stayton, Oregon.
