April was born on April 3, 1979, in South Lake Tahoe, California to Donald Ashley and Lauri Soyland. April would live in Gardnerville, Nevada and graduate from high school and later earning an associate degree in early childhood education. Even after her degree, April would continue to take college courses as she loved to learn and always wanted to increase her knowledge. Children was her passion and she spent 17 years working at Under the Magic Pinetree. April was always invested in her children and would even attend their high school graduations. She took time at Easter to make special candy cups and would even dress up as the Easter bunny to bring smiles to the children. Overall, she loved holidays and would always go all out with her decorations and as always requested her amazing chocolate chip or peanut butter cookies. She had her made from scratch recipe memorized and usually would make four batches at a time. She was blessed with a family of her own when she met Daniel through a friend at Cost Plus. Dan remembers the day, March 17th, 2000, at 1:10 P.M. he met the love of his life. They would marry on October 27, 2001, in Nevada. Together, they were blessed with two children, Dakota, and Maddison. April was an amazing mother to her children and adoptive mom to many. She took in many children going through difficult times or would take on children to help their family. For April, taking care of others and handling things was her special gift. She was organized, detailed, and held high expectations for herself and others, always providing the best love and care possible. After living in Nevada for most of her life, in June of 2020 Dan was able to convince April to move their family to Scio, Oregon where he was raised. April loved how green and beautiful Oregon had to offer. She started a job with the Albany Walmart as a cashier and working in customer service. April made many close friendships with her coworkers. Besides her work and family, April would busy herself with all different types of arts and crafts projects, and she always had an excellent supply of office supplies. It was most likely if you asked for something she would have it! April also loved candle and Tupperware parties, but any excuse to get people together was something she loved. April was social, outgoing, loud, and passionate, but passionate mostly about the people she loved. On October 2, 2021, April left this earth far too soon. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy in her family. She is survived by her father, Donald Ashley, Stepfather, Michael Pearl and mother, Lauri Soyland; her husband, Daniel J Cannoy; children, Dakota Cannoy and Madison Cannoy; siblings, Rheanna Dunlap, Max Soiland, Rebecca Pearl, Joseph Filippi; grandfather, Gene Ashley in addition to many extended family members, friends, co workers and hundred of children she loved and cared for over the years.
