Amy Alexis Spinner

Amy Alexis Spinner, a beloved daughter, sister, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on September 29, 2023, in Turner, Oregon. Born on January 16, 2002, in Hillsboro, Oregon, Amy was a beacon of kindness and intelligence, touching the lives of those around her with her warmth and wit.

Amy was preceded in death by her father, Bruce Spinner; grandma, Julie Thompson and her uncle, Mike Parker; aunt Nancy Spinner; Jerry and Phyllis Spinner and Uncle Steve Spinner. She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Bertram; siblings, Kevin, Christopher, Sophia, and Bradley; grandfather, George Bertram; uncles, Larry Spinner, Alan Spinner, Jake Bertram; and aunts, Rebecca Bertram, Rachel Bertram, Megan Thompson, and Desiree Thompson in addition to numerous cousins that loved her very much. Each of them will remember Amy's vibrant spirit and cherish the moments they shared with her.

Amy was a proud graduate of Cascade High School, where she demonstrated her intelligence and determination. Amy was entering her fourth year at Portland State University, with aspirations to earn a degree in Political Science and Computer Forensics but she decided to come home in hopes of working on her mental health. Her academic pursuits were a testament to her intellectual curiosity and her commitment to making a difference in the world. At the time Amy took her SAT’s she scored a 1300 on the test, solidifying how incredibly studious she was. Amy wanted to be a therapist and would describe herself as a psychology nerd.

Amy was an avid gamer, making friends all over the world through games like Apex Legend, Valorant and enjoyed virtual reality. Her online community became a second family, as she spent countless hours in conversation and camaraderie. She was also a skilled pool player, often found challenging her friends at the Red Apple or Stayton Moose Lodge. Her love for gaming and pool was only surpassed by her love for animals, a passion she held since childhood. Amy had many diverse interests and talents, including music and singing as well.

For the last six years, Amy resided in Turner, having previously lived in Portland, Oregon. She embraced the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, finding comfort in its landscapes and communities. Amy had a particular fondness for certain foods, with beef stew, pho, and sushi being her favorites. Her culinary preferences were as diverse and vibrant as her personality, adding to the many facets of her unique character. Currently she was trying to learn Japanese and enjoyed anime.

Amy's life, though tragically short, she leaves behind a legacy is one of compassion and curiosity, a testament to a life lived. Her passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew her. Amy Alexis Spinner will be dearly missed, yet her memory will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
