Allen Ralston, born on August 17, 1935, in Waukon, Iowa, peacefully passed away on February 15, 2024 at the age of 88 in Scio, Oregon. He was the beloved son of Jessie and John Ralston.
In 1965, Allen exchanged vows with the love of his life, Phyllis Baird, in a joyous ceremony held in Cave Junction, Oregon. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Allen was a loving and dedicated father to his three children, Myles, Amanda, and Troy. He took great pride in their accomplishments and supported them wholeheartedly throughout their lives. Allen was also blessed with four grandchildren, Lindsay, Noelle, Christopher, and Johnathan, whom he adored and cherished dearly.
Allen pursued his education at Monroe High School and later served his country with honor in the Army. Following his honorable service, he settled in Scio, Oregon, in 1976, where he established deep roots within the community.
Throughout his professional career, Allen worked tirelessly as a boiler fireman at Western Kraft and Willamette Industries, demonstrating unwavering commitment and dedication to his craft.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Allen was a man of many passions and interests. He found solace in farming, immersed himself in the pages of world history, and enjoyed attending auctions and admiring old tractors. His adventurous spirit led him to explore different corners of the globe, enriching his life with diverse experiences and cultures.
Allen's storytelling abilities were legendary, captivating the hearts of family and friends alike. His anecdotes were filled with wisdom, humor, and warmth, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of hearing them.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Ralston; and his siblings, Carol, Catherine, and Shelby. He is survived by his children, Myles (Mindy) Ralston, Amanda (Kenneth) Cole, Troy (Emily) Ralston; grandchildren, Lindsay Roberts, Noelle Ralston, Christopher Ralston, Johnathan Ralston.
In his passing, Allen leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
