Alisea Renee Horner

July 30, 1958 — January 25, 2025

Alisea Renee Horner, born on July 30, 1958, in Ventura, California, to Rowen Horner and Goldie Coates, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2025, in Stayton, OR at age 66, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Alisea grew up in California and attended Greenville High School before pursuing her passion for photography at Butte College. It was there that she discovered her love for capturing life’s most beautiful moments through the lens.

She was a devoted mother to her two children, Serenity and Landon. As a homemaker, Alisea dedicated herself to raising her children, while summers were filled with adventure as she traveled across California with Butler Amusements, hosting her game of Speedball at various carnivals. Her vibrant and adventurous spirit carried her to many places, including Canyon Dam, Chico, and Oroville, before eventually settling in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, and later, Oregon, where she split her time between Stayton and Sweet Home.

Nearly 11 years ago, Alisea met Cliff Armstrong through Facebook, and their connection was immediate and enduring. Together, they built a life filled with farming, mushroom hunting, and gardening. They sold their produce, including vegetables and garlic, at the Sweet Home Saturday Market, where Alisea’s outgoing nature and warmth shone brightly. She delighted in chatting with customers and caring for their small farm animals, including pigs, ducks, and chickens. Alisea loved her furry companion, Nomad, and embraced life with a fun-loving, free-spirited energy.

Music was another deep passion of hers, spanning genres from country to rock to rap, and her garden was full of treasures like the arrowhead she once discovered. Alisea also worked briefly for Norpac and Santiam Hospital in Stayton, Oregon. Her best days were most likely spent outdoors with archery, hiking, canning and of course spending time with her family.

Alisea was preceded in death by her husband of over 30 years, Mike Large; her parents, Rowen Horner and Goldie Coates; and her siblings, Rowen Horner II, Jim Smith, Claudia Horner, and Linda Horner. She is survived by her beloved fiancé, Cliff Armstrong; her children, Serenity (Trevor Surlage) Forsythe Surlage and Landon (Salena De la Cruz-Forsythe) Forsythe; and her grandchildren, Isaiah Forsythe, Maleah Forsythe, Pippen Forsythe, Barron Forsythe, Mateo De La Cruz, Amorah Nolan-De La Cruz, and Kylee Thixton.

Alisea’s light, laughter, and love touched all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by her family, friends, and community.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Weddle Funeral Service, with a viewing following the service from 12pm to 1pm.

May her free spirit soar, and may her memory live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
