Alice Olene Veach March 2, 1912 – Decemeber 3, 2010 Sublimity – Olene was born in Peacock, Texas and lived in Buffalo Gap, Texas before moving with her family to Imperial Valley, CA in the early 1920’s. She was married to Claude Jernigan and had five children, Robert, Mary Jane, Ronald, Richard and Eunice. She and Claude moved many times, and spent time in Battleground, WA and Hemet, CA. Claude was a dairyman and bulldozer excavator. Olene was a homemaker and also started a restaurant in Hemet, after 25 years Claude passed away. Olene married Carl Veach and moved to Oregon. She and Carl also spent 25 yrs. together. Olene’s lifetime hobbies were sewing, knitting and crocheting, and of course fishing. She is survived by her two children, Ronald Jernigan of Sublimity and Eunice Gering of Corvallis; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. There will be a gathering of family and friends in Aumsville on Sat. Dec. 11th at Noon. For more information please contact (503)749-2370. Interment will be private.
