November 10, 1958 October 15, 2011 Lyons, Oregon Gone to quickly, Alanas smiles, her kindness to family and friends, her love of animals and most of all her presence will be missed in this world. Alan and Mary Thompson began their family in Brigham City, Utah where their first daughter, Pamela Rae was born in 1953. the family moved shortly after Pams birth to Salem, Oregon and added a son Alan Ray jr. and then Alana Sue in 1958. Alana attended North Salem High School and then began working as a waitress at the Cafe in the SAIF Corp Building along with her sister. The sisters did so many things together, while Alana worked at the restaurant Pam got a job in Records at the Courthouse. Alana married Ed Mankin and they moved to Stayton. She later worked at the Riverview Restaurant in Mehama and also worked at the Norpac Cannery and BiMart. She divorced and moved to Lyons. Her sister began a battle with cancer and Alana was there to care for her until Pam Rae T. Holm passed away in 2009. Alana enjoyed tending her garden, growing vegetables and many roses and flowers. She had a special way with animals and managed several aquariums of fish as well as her pet dogs, cats and birds. She is survived by her mother, Mary Thompson and brother and sister in law, Alan and Patty Thompson all of Lyons. A Memorial Service is pending.
