Al Ward, Jr.

Mill City- Al Ward, Jr. was born in Stayton, Oregon and was a Santiam Canyon resident his entire life. He would meet the love of his life, Glenna Ward while at a dance and they would marry on December 7, 1962, in Reno, Nevada. Together, they would manage Al Ward Logging for close to 50 years. Al was known for his love of the woods and logging was truly his passion. Over the years of owning his business, had many loyal employees and made many friends. When not working, he would enjoy fishing and hunting, he and Glenna would even travel to Alaska together. On September 5, 2022, Al would pass away peacefully. He was predeceased by his wife Glenna in 2018. He is survived by his daughter, Kim and grandson, Alex; brother, Bob and sister, Frances. A graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Gates, Oregon on Monday, September 19, 2022 at 11am. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to SafeHaven or another animal charity of choice.
