Adele Larson was born Adele Sabin on May 1, 1931, in Pomerene, Cochise County, Arizona.  She was the second daughter and second child of Arthur and Verna (nee Scott) Sabin. Growing up, she lived mostly in Idaho and Oregon with her family on various farms which they rented and operated.  She learned much of farming, including driving horse drawn wagons, and also working on tractors.  The family grew sugar beets and other crops. Adele would go on to graduate from high school in Woodburn, Oregon in 1949.   On June 10, 1950, Adele married James Wayne Thomas in Salem, Oregon.  They and their children were later sealed as a family on June 27, 1962, in the temple at Idaho Falls, Idaho. On June 28, 1972, Adele was widowed when her husband Jim died suddenly.   In October 1980, she married Lanol W. Larson.  They were married for more than thirty-three years until Lanols passing in July 2014.   Adele developed a number of talents in her life including:  sewing, cooking, gardening and canning.   She grew up and remained faithful in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served in a number of capacities and callings.  Among other things she served as a Relief Society President twice, a Primary President, a Service Missionary, and a number of teaching assignments.   She was known as someone of a friendly, outgoing and compassionate nature.  She always cared what those around her thought and how they felt.    Adele is survived by her children, James Thomas, Steven Thomas, Craig (Jean) Thomas, Alison (Rob) Nelson and Russell Thomas; Ten grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.   She is and will be missed by her family, friends and associates.
