Tony Marvin Starkweather was born on January 10, 1964 in Grants Pass, Oregon to Marvin and Maryanne Starkweather.  Tony grew up and spent the majority of his childhood years in North Bend, Oregon.  On July 19, 1983 at the age of 19, Tony entered the U.S. Army as a Motor Transport Operator (88M).  He was soon stationed in Germany and served until 1989 when he was honorably discharged. After military service Tony moved around a bit but he would eventually settle in Salem, Oregon. Tony’s passion was in music, which led him to rewarding career as a musician, singer, and private entertainer. Most friends that Tony made throughout his life, remember his talented vocal ability. Tony passed his passion and talents along to his family. In 2005, Tony would meet Kelsey O’Keefe, and develop a crush on her. After some persuasion, she finally agreed to go on a date with him. On August 31, 2006 the two would marry in Lincoln City, Oregon. Tony was a loving and caring father and husband.  He always helped anyone and everyone in need; creating everlasting friendships. He also had many hobbies and things that he would include the family.  He loved to build and race his 1976 Cobra II Mustangs and would be often seen at the Woodburn Dragstrip competing amongst others.  When he wasn’t turning a wrench, he enjoyed being outdoors, boating and camping. On June 23rd, 2019 Tony passed away in Salem, Oregon at the age of 55 surrounded by family.  He was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Maryanne; Brothers Mark and David and Sisters, Pam and Ann.  He is survived by his loving wife Kelsey and children Tasha, Brytney, Ryan and Cierra. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  A private internment will take place at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. The family thanks you for the love and support you have shown them over the last few days. Many have asked how they can help or lend a hand. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that contributions be made on this memorial page to cover funeral and future household expenses that will accrue. Your kind thoughts and messages are much appreciated during this incredibly difficult time.
