Leslie Roy Aubrey was born on December 24, 1943 in Salem, Oregon to Roy and Mina (Pedigo) Aubrey in the Central Howell area. Leslie married Carol Ann Johnson on September 7, 1963 in Fort Myer, Virginia where they were both serving with the U. S. Army. He honorably served in the United States Army from 1962-1982 and worked as a civilian for the United States Navy from 1983-2004. He completed three tours of duty in Vietnam. Leslie later received an associate’s degree in general studies from Del Mar Community College in Corpus Christi, Texas. He lived in Honolulu, Hawaii from 1977-2004, moving to Silverton, Oregon in 2005 until his passing. All though his life he loved soccer and coached with the Honolulu Bulls Soccer Club from 1984-2004. Upon moving to Silverton he coached with the Silver Falls Soccer Club from 2006-2014. He also enjoyed genealogy and bonsai. Leslie passed away on February 2, 2019 at his home in Silverton. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Vada Louise Owens of Brooks, Oregon and son Clayton Roy Aubrey. He is survived by his wife Carol of 55 years; his son, Leslie Scott Aubrey of Plant City, Florida; and grandchildren, Jeremy, Kaleb, Isabella, Hattie and Gracelyn of Silverton.
