John Francis Ruiz
October 10, 1946 — July 16, 2022
John Francis Ruiz was born on October 10th, 1946 in Tucson, Arizona to parents Mary and Rimero Ruiz. Eventually moving to California and then Oregon, John lived a full life surrounded by family. He was blessed with his two children, son Johnny, and daughter Matea McCovey. His family will remember John as a man with a great curiosity for the world around him, with interests ranging from astronomy and the sciences to gymnastics and medicine, to culture and music! After some time working as a pharmacy technician, John spent much of his life as an electrician and joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Worders, or IBEW.
John passed away on Jul 16th, 2022 in Sublimity, Oregon. He is preceded in death by his mother Mary, his father Rimero, his step-father Cecilio, and his granddaughter Natalie Cadena. He is survived by his daughter, Matea McCovey, his son Johnny Cadena; his grandchildren, Iayana McCovey, River Donahue, Romeo Donahue, Niko Donahue, John Cadena, James Cadena, and Jessee Cadena; his great granddaughter Camryn Moniqu Cadena; and his siblings, Ed, Joe, and Cecilia.
John will be sorely missed by his friends and family, but his memory will live on in those he loved and cherished.
