John Barton Reed Jr.

John Barton Reed Jr. was born on June 4, 1974 in Los Angeles, California to John Barton Reed and Sandra Louise Woodruff. As a child, he would be raised by his mother Sandra and her husband, Robert Boswell, who he went on to consider his dad. Besides California, John would spend time living in Washington, Utah, Albany, Oregon and then finally Bend, Oregon. John spent most of his life self-employed as a general contractor. In his spare time, John enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities.  He enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting and riding his quads and dirt bikes.  He also enjoyed music.  John had a good sense of humor and enjoyed joking and laughing. John was a die-hard Raiders and Lakers fan.John’s favorite food was spicy chicken fried rice with butter and salt.  He loved Mexican food and Mom’s hot spicy pickles! He also loved his dad, Bob’s Swedish meatballs. On October 10, 2021 John passed away in Bend, Oregon.  He was preceded in passing by his father John; grandparents, Sue, Nip, Bob, Peg, Bud and Jane; great-aunts, Ruth and Dorothy; and friends Nate and Chad. He is survived by his fiancée Monique; children, Johnathon, Jenna, Mason, John Jr. and Jalen; grandchildren, Kayden, Jeremiah and one granddaughter on the way; and siblings, Heather Real, Matthew Boswell, Monti Jung and Heather Boswell. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on October 23rd at Sunnyside Park located at 44930 Quartzville Dr. in Foster, Oregon.
