Colleen was born on September 28, 1939 in Oakland, California to Bob and Mildred McWilliams, their first of four children. Colleen grew up in Oakland spending her early years with her sister and best friend Cathy. They were soon joined by their brother Jimmy and later in life their sweet sister Eileen joined the family. Colleen attended Freemont High School. In the Spring of 1956, while on a double date she met Norman L. Adelman, a young sailor from Colorado. They married on August 12th, 1956 in Calhan, Colorado. They spent their early years of marriage in California where all 3 of their children were born: Norman D. Adelman (Tammy), Janeen Dewey, and Colette Adelman. In 1969, they moved to Aumsville, Oregon to be near family and eventually settled in Stayton where all of their children grew up and graduated. Colleen was a homemaker, and loved being a mother. Colleen was creative and loved to paint. She created many beautiful pieces of folk art that are enjoyed by friends and family. Colleen loved birds and flowers and always had a beautiful assortment of flowers and plants around her home. Colleen loved her extended family and enjoyed gathering for every holiday, birthday, or for any excuse at all. Colleen loved children and spent many years serving children through her church. She loved camping at Detroit Lake with her extended family telling stories and singing silly songs.  She loved craft days and trips to town with all the ladies in the family and spending time in the Sisters area. One of the greatest joys in her life were her grandchildren, Jaret, Spencer, Joshua, Hannah, Alyssa, and Ally. Colleen was preceded in death by her parents Bob & Mildred, brother Jimmy, grandson Jaret, daughter Janeen, and many loved ones and friends. She looked forward to a big family gathering on the other side. Colleen is survived by her husband Norm, son Norman (Tammy), daughter Colette, her sisters Cathy and Eileen, and many beloved family members.  Colleen gave love and laughter to those around her and she will be missed dearly.
