Carol Elaine Coon

Carol Elaine Coon also known as Lainie by some members of her family, peacefully passed away on November 28, 2023, at the age of 98 in Salem, Oregon. She was born on October 20, 1925, in Mobridge, South Dakota.

Carol was a devoted and loving person who always put her family first. Always there to lend a hand when help was needed. Her greatest joy in recent years was spending time with her great and great great grandchildren, who would visit her for lunch or snacks. She cherished these moments and adored all the little ones. She also found happiness in receiving phone calls from her good friends in Klamath Falls, as their conversations really brightened her day.

In her professional life, Carol worked for many years as a meat wrapper at Low Cost Super Market before joining Market Basket until her retirement. She formed lasting friendships while working in the meat department and assisting customers, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

Outside of work, Carol had a passion for sewing, decorating and various crafts. She found a peaceful fulfillment in her hobbies and loved working in her yard when she could.

Carol is survived by her daughters, Karen, the widow of Jay Graham, and Julie, married to Dan Williamson, and son Kim Coon. The Graham family includes grandson Jeff and his wife Tina with great grandchildren Cammi, Marie Yevonne with husband Zach, and Charles with wife Kat, and grandson Brett with great grandchildren Daniell, Josh Warness with wife Ila, and Brett Warness. The Williamson family includes granddaughter Hidi married to Ryan Hari with great grandchildren Makayla and Brendan, granddaughter Whitney married to Dan Oesterblad with great grandchildren Devann married to Rob Steiner, and Alex Oesterblad married to Kali, grandson Jerod Williamson married to Monica with great grandchildren Mikeala and Brandon, and granddaughter Molly Williamson with great grandson Blake Bellinger. The Coon family includes granddaughter Kimberlee and great grandchildren Skylar, Savannah and Wyatt. Carol is also survived by 13 great, great grandchildren and 1 great, great, great grandchild.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband Leo S. Coon in 1986, her son Dennis Coon and granddaughter Dana Warness in 2021, and great grandson Shawn Warness in 2005.

A Celebration of Life honoring Carol will be held on Saturday. January 20, 2024, from 11:00AM until 2:00PM at Keizer Elks Club, located at 4250 Cherry Avenue, Keizer, OR 97303.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Willamette Vital Health Hospice Care at 1015 3rd Street NW, Salem, OR 97304

The compassionate professionals at Weddle Funeral Services, located at 1777 N Third Ave. Stayton, OR 97383 are assisting the family with the arrangements.

Carol will be deeply missed by her loved ones and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her memory will forever be cherished in our hearts.
